TROFEO DELLE INDUSTRIE – LONATO
Nel primo weekend di Ottobre abbiamo partecipato al Trofeo Delle Industrie al South Garda Karting di Lonato. In questa storica manifestazione (la più vecchia competizione di Kart al mondo) si sono presentati molti Team ufficiali, quindi per noi è stato un gran banco di prova per confrontarci con i punti di riferimento della categoria.
Nelle prime prove del giovedì chiudiamo la sessione al 14esimo posto ma purtroppo il setup del veicolo dà più grattacapi del previsto.
Avere dei problemi di setup ha inciso anche sulle qualifiche, che non sono andate come previsto.
La prima manche ad eliminazione ci vede protagonisti di una partenza non perfetta, subito recuperata con qualche sorpasso nei primi giri; purtroppo un problema tecnico nell’installazione del musetto ci fa prendere penalità a fine gara terminando ufficialmente al 31esimo posto.
Anche la seconda manche eliminatoria è senza fortuna; dopo una buona lotta a centro gruppo ed aver recuperato alcune posizioni al via, un ulteriore problema al musetto ci penalizza facendoci terminare in 28esima posizione.
Per i risultati ottenuti nelle due manche, abbiamo dovuto partecipare alla manche di ripescaggio per poter aspirare alla finale.
Partiti in 16esima piazza, durante la gara abbiamo recuperato molte posizioni a suon di sorpassi ma non abbastanza per entrare nei primi 6. La gara termina con l’8° posto alla bandiera a scacchi, con un pizzico di amaro in bocca per aver perso tempo ad inizio gara a causa del traffico e della lotta a centro gruppo.
In the first weekend of October we took part in the Trofeo Delle Industrie at the South Garda Karting in Lonato. In this historic event (the oldest karting competition in the world) many official teams showed up, so for us it was a great testing ground to compare ourselves with the reference points of the category.
In the first practice on Thursday we close the session in 14th place but unfortunately the vehicle setup causes more headaches than expected.
Having some setup problems also affected qualifying, which didn’t go as planned.
The first elimination heat sees us protagonists of a not perfect start, immediately recovered with some overtaking in the first laps; unfortunately a technical problem in the installation of the nose causes us to take penalties at the end of the race, finishing officially in 31st place.
The second heat is also without luck; after a good fight in the middle of the group and having recovered some positions at the start, a further problem with the nose penalizes us, making us finish in 28th position.
Due to the results obtained in the two heats, we had to participate in the repechage heat to be able to aspire to the final.
Starting in 16th place, during the race we recovered many positions through overtaking but not enough to enter the top 6. The race ends with 8th place at the checkered flag, with a pinch of bitterness in my mouth for wasting time at the start of the race due to traffic and the fight in the middle of the pack.
